Dear Doctor Who fans:
This forum was created prior to Paul Vanezis' announcement on the Missing Episodes Forum of the 'Africa Search.' (The MEF posting was on August 2, 2007.) This forum was a very modest attempt by Brian Wilson and me to raise awareness about the missing episodes of Doctor Who and perhaps indirectly encourage a serendipitous discovery of a missing episode. We kept the board operating after August 2, 2007, but our tiny efforts seemed even more insignificant after the official search (with boots on the ground overseas) was implemented (much to our delight).
That "Africa Search" soon turned into the Omnisafari with Phil Morris and his T.I.E.A searching the world for missing episodes of Doctor Who.
In mid 2013, a report on the Bleeding Cool website that Phil Morris had found 90 missing episodes sparked the so-called "Omnirumor" that has kept the Doctor Who forums buzzing ever since.
In October, 2013, Phil Morris announced the return of 'The Enemy of the World' (complete) and 'The Web of Fear' (missing episode 3). They had been found at a relay station in Jos, Nigeria. Web 3
On September 26, 2015, Phil Morris spoke at the Pandorica Doctor Who Convention in Bristol.
He made quite a few interesting comments. Among these was the revelation that Episode 3 of 'The Web of Fear' had also been found along with the rest of the episodes of this story in late 2011. Unfortunately, Episode 3 had been separated from the other episodes by the station manager. Thus, Web 3 did exist in late 2011, but today it's fate is unclear.
Another revelation from Phil Morris from the convention appearance was that he has long since visited every country where the missing episodes of Doctor Who were sold, though apparently a number of details are still being investigated.
So, all in all, there are indications that while we may have a bit longer to wait for an announcement, we may be coming at long last near to the conclusion of the Omnisafari.
On October 7, 2015, it is expected that the DVD for 'The Underwater Menace' will receive its official announcement. Unofficial statements have said that the DVD will contain telesnap reconstructions of the missing episodes 1 and 4. However, be sure to check that announcement, just in case there is some sort of surprise switcheroo!
Fingers crossed!
