With new who being sold in many countries that bought sixties who it provides the perfect chance for a missing episode article in the newspapers of that country. Like the sun article last year it didn't cost a penny and really got the point accross. Being a new forum chose your words carefully and any articles that appear show them on other forums . This will soon generate respect for what you are doing. The article could mention other lost shows greatly improving the chances of a result gaining this forum a lot of respect...

Totally agree. Getting articles in newspapers isn't difficult at all. Its just a matter of writing the story up, telling them about our lostdrwho team - not forgetting to mention other shows, including a link to www.missingepisodes.com, etc... etc.... However, I think it might be a good idea to wait a few weeks and let our forum grow a bit more. At that point we can all work together from a master letter. We can all read the letter and suggest improvements etc... Then we set about getting the story out to countries like Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria and Zambia - to name a few. Publicity is the key. We all have a common goal here. Brian.

Yes, let's see how thinking on this evolves.
Although not everything costs money, most proactive strategies do. I think the first step should be to educate ourselves on how one goes about creating a fund or organization properly. This will take some thought and planning so we don't get sued if something should go wrong.

Cadillac, On further reflection upon the points you raise perhaps it may be a good idea for members to write template/draft letters for newspapers, magazines and radio stations? How about creating a thread for people to post their letters and then casting a poll to vote on the best? Ideas and phrases could be culled and merged into a mutually agreed upon paradigm of ideas, points and word-stock which could be augmented/modified depending on where the letter was being sent. Off the top of my head words and phrases like "cultural heritage", "legacy" and "institution" would be indispensable. Working together we could create a very impressive press release (also very easy to convert to a .PDF document). Totally agree with regard to mentioning other lost shows. Brian.
