Hey Bruce.
Of the films you got do any have NZBC/TVNZ label or markings? Might even be written on in black marker pen - two or three digits preceded by A or B??? eg A234 or B64

I got five films from BJ:
"Freckles comes home" has a "NZBC Television" label on the outside can, but cannot read any details (like title or serial number) as other recycle stickers have been stuck over that portion;
"Money means nothing" (1934) [2 reels] - no NZBC or TVNZ markings anywhere on can or leaders;
"None but the lonely hearts" [3 reels] - no NZBC or TVNZ markings anywhere on can or leaders;
"Gloria" [2 reels] - can of reel 2 has felt pen writing what is possibly a NZBC code: D 283-48;
"Don & Pete - Rodeo" [1 reel] - no NZBC or TVNZ markings anywhere on can or leader.
-- presumably all the films in BJ's collection are ex the TV dump. I should have asked him about this, but overlooked it in my anxiety to record all the other info he was volunteering. Any time you are in Auckland, you are welcome to watch some of these.
I haven't yet viewed any of these ones, but I got 19 films at the auction, so am viewing a few each night.

Yeah, that's a NZBC catalogue number:
D = 10 minutes duration (eg no less than 5m, no more than 20m) 283 = programme ID number 48 = episode 48
"Freckles comes home" has a "NZBC Television" label on the outside can
This is a movie (1942), so wouldn't have a ID number like a TV series would have.
