Maybe the bbc could do somthing on the world service. As a lot of africians listen to it. Seems like a fine idea to me. Would you care to dash off an email to BBC World Service and suggest this? Just make it about missing archive material from the BBC in general, rather than Doctor Who specifically.

I sent them an email and got a reply. That said it is not feasible to run a section on missing TV on the World Service.

Well, at least you asked. It never does any harm to inquire!
Maybe if an episode were to turn up overseas, the question could be asked again. An appeal might be more timely if linked with the story of the actual recovery of some lost film.

I saw a comment from someone that being the United States any chance of missing Doctor Who on 8mm is near impossible.
Living in Vermont I can very well tell you this is NOT true. Border states to the north receive Canadian channels just as easily as Canadians. Doctor Who was broadcasted in the northern U.S. in the 60s via Canadian channels and I've come across people here that remember watching Marco Polo.
Though attempting to find 8mm film with television on it in Florida or New Jersey might be silly, looking for film in northern Washington state, Minnesota, upper New York, Vermont, Maine, etc ... could be worth it for the slim chance of finding Marco Polo.
I had already asked my state's Historical Society about their 8mm collection, though I was told that as of yet no home movies with television on it has come up.

Hi there, Sorry to hijack your page but can anyone point me in the right direction for someone who has found a lost episode. I've tried searching bbc and it's just too complex. This website is the closest thing I've come across to submit video. Thanks in advance.
