Thus, mrking is in contact with the RT. We will see if anything comes of this, or if it is just the latest in a long, long line of irritating hoaxes.

Hiya.
Normally I wouldn't make any comment, but to avoid speculation I'll just say this. MrKing has indeed contacted the Restoration Team website and I have sent him e-mails with my telephone numbers. As yet I haven't had any further response from him. It's up to him to get in contact if he so wishes. In the meantime I would remind you of my usual advice in these circumstances, that 'I believe it when I SEE it.'

Paul

This appears to have rapidly fallen into the category of:
"So, what exactly did you get out of this silly deception?"

On 4/19/08, Paul Vanezis posted again to explain how news of the TV.com postings were brought to his attention...
+++++
Hi there. Firstly, and in response to Roger, MrKing's post on this forum was forwarded to the Restoration Team by a user of this site, that is how we found out about it. We really do follow up every lead and most turn out to be hoaxes or genuine mistakes.
Regarding contact, I would always make personal contact if possible because the Treasure Hunt site is not manned all the time and staff need to be there to follow up leads. I check my e-mail several times a day which is a little easier unless I am away filming.
In response to Boinkdexter, the Treasue Hunt people tell me they haven't had anything from a MrKing or from anyone with a similar story using a different name. As of this morning I haven't had any further contact from MrKing, so I therefore must assume, as he has been online a lot since he last contacted me, that he has discovered his films are not missing after all. Until I have any further communication from him I will regard the matter as closed.
Regards to you all,
Paul

I will try and get some photos this weekend howeer I'm normally really busy on the weekend.
PS to someone called Lexx-2 I call them tapes because they look like wheels of tapes in metal cans.

Hi there,
There was no message left on either my office phone or mobile and I was at my desk. I was on location this morning in Market Drayton so wasn't in the office. If you'd like to try again now or until 5.30pm today please do. I have sent you an e-mail reminding you of the numbers in case the ones you are calling are incorrect.
I am also available on my mobile tomorrow and the day after as I am not in the office on Thursday or Friday. Alternatively, reply with your number and a convenient time and I'll call you.
Cheers,
Paul

Incidentally, on Ian Levine's forum, the following link was posted... posfind.notlong.comIn one of the postings at that link, mrking claims to be TA King, a wrestler... +++++++ TA King or Thomas Adam King (and no it not my real name) I just looked it up and MVP hasn't won a match this year. He has had 8 matches and has lost all of them

And so, as of 5/10/2008, nothing more. The plausible conclusion is that this is the latest in the long line of false claims of episode recoveries.
